2020-2021 School Year:
Please stay tuned for updated information as it becomes available.
La Costa Heights’ Art Program, a notable favorite among students, is funded by our PTA and in part by the City of Carlsbad's Cultural Arts Office. It is run entirely by our community of amazing volunteers.
Students in grades K-6 are introduced to a variety of art techniques and artists. The goal is to help students develop their individuality, creativity, and appreciation of art as well as strengthen problem solving and critical learning skills.
Classroom teachers coordinate with their Art Docent volunteer(s) and select their art lessons using pre-designed standards-based projects for the classroom. We offer collated lesson plans and DVDs in our art room as well as an online calendar with some art lesson ideas by grade level. New projects and ideas are always encouraged and welcomed!
Student art is highlighted during our annual Art Show on March 12, 2020, which is scheduled in conjunction with Open House in the spring.
We are looking forward to another year of wonderful art created by our own talented LCH students!
Several art volunteer opportunities (including non-teaching activities) will be available throughout the year. The ArtsEd Team will be scheduling a few key meetings to keep everyone in touch and informed of supply needs.
If you have any questions or are interested in helping out, please contact our ArtsEd Team.
